If your FB400 or EGG Genius goes offline and disconnects from your WiFi when using or making a temperature change, the firmware on your controller needs to be updated. Please perform the following steps:
1. Power on your controller without any temperature probes plugged in or doing a cook.
2. Allow the controller to connect to your WiFi. This occurs when the LED light switches from a fast blink to being solid green.
Note: To check the version of firmware on your FB400 or EGG Genius go to: https://flameboss.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/14000100493-how-to-locate-the-firmware-version-installed-on-fb400-controller
TIP: For firmware version 3.00 or 3.01 only: If the LED is slow blinking, use a paperclip or similar device to press the reset for 5 seconds and release. The LED should switch from slow blink to fast blink.
TIP: For firmware version 4.0 or higher only: If the LED is slow blinking, use a paperclip or similar device to press the reset for 1 second and release. The LED should switch from slow blink to fast blink. Pressing the reset for 5 seconds and releasing performs a full factory reset and your WiFi information was deleted and will need to be re-entered on your controller.
3. Once connected, leave the controller powered on and connected for 20-30 minutes to allow enough time for the latest firmware version to download and install.
4. Once the latest firmware is downloaded and installed you will receive a notification on your phone stating: "Update complete; (Controller ID or Name) is now running app 4.XX.XXX"
If you did not receive the notification, you can contact us so we can verify whether the latest firmware was installed on your controller.
